The string of lights is quite sophisticated and I was a bit intimidated at first. I put them straight into the water and the solar panel gets quite a bit of splashing. I was very surprised when they lit up and produced as much light as they did. They wrap around the perimeter of a 6 foot circle in the pond, forming a few circles. They have been working for a few weeks now and seem to be working fine.
