Actually, I've never used such a peeling before, I only had a paste or a thick shower gel in a small tube or tube. I've used scrubs with salt, sugar, microbeads, and things like walnut shells. I prefer salt or sugar scrubs as they are more environmentally friendly and cause fewer problems in sewage treatment plants. I also love the extra softness that sugar scrubs add to the skin after use. Being new to this type of scrub I couldn't remember exactly how to use it and there are no instructions on the packaging. You can see them being used in the photos here on Revain. However, if you forget when they get to you (like me) and have never used them before, it may not be obvious. You have to wet them a little and then somehow tear them apart and rub them into a soapy paste. I did not do it. I've just started rubbing them against my skin. It's VERY abrasive, but I also have some issues with columnar keratosis (which causes unsightly red bumps on my arms and legs) and using it in this way has really reduced the visibility of the red bumps. Of course, when I actually went back to the list and figured out how to use it, I tried it that way, but I found it too mild to exfoliate when I turned it into a soapy paste. At this point it's like regular foam soap. So personally, I will continue to use them incorrectly. I'm actually very happy with the scrub I get when I use it wrong, the only real issue I have with it is the smell. It's a very artificial scent. It is reminiscent of chemical smells, and strawberries smell almost sweet, like artificially flavored strawberry candy. I'm not totally against strawberry flavors, I just don't like this one. I also tried their lemon scent which I think has the same problem and ends up smelling like lemon kitchen cleaner. If only they could fix their odor issues so they don't smell so artificial and chemical I would probably have to give that 5 stars.
