Too fragile for a 6 year old
Bought these for my 6 year old and they didn't last more than 3 weeks. The idea is good (an adult earring that won't fall out) but the spring broke the second time she tried to put it in. But they are beautiful. If your child lets you plug them in and out, or is old enough to do it on their own very carefully, that would probably be great.
