Nice feature but not very well done

I wanted a light like this so I could have more desk space. All the lights I looked at, the switch was way down near the outlet. This one looked like the switch was bigger and it had a decent enough cord. It doesn't make sense for everyone to install switches at the bottom near the outlet. I have a large headboard and wanted something where I could easily switch it on and off at night. In this case, the switch is roughly in the middle of the cable. The cable behind the switch isn't long enough to put it where I wanted. So luckily I recently bought an alarm clock that was also a charging station with 2 sockets and 3 USB ports so I can connect it to my alarm clock. If I positioned it lower and more above the table and plugged it in where the socket actually is, I wouldn't be able to reach the switch. Putting it together, however, was a whole different problem. It's a simple build, don't get me wrong, but it's boring to say the least. Just as you attach the lantern to the base component with 2 bolts, you need to adjust the nut to the perfect length for it to be secure. You have to hope it doesn't move while you screw it in. Due to this design problem, it does not fit the wall tightly. I hope it never gets pulled because I have a feeling it will come out very easily. To be honest, I'm not sure I would buy them again. They are cute and I love the light they put out from the bulbs I bought but due to some design flaws they wouldn't be ideal.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing here
