If you want to install a non-original stereo system in the Sync system first, use the iData Maestro adapter. I did this in my Lincoln Navigator and it works great. The Crux was a cheap alternative to my daughter's 2013 Ford Focus. The first was DOA. The second had to be decrypted by the installer (this person I trust is the lead engineer at Best Buy). He had to make several calls to Crux and was spending too much time installing it. 2 stars because it works (should be 1) and unless you're an experienced installer, don't try it. It's not plug and play. It doesn't have an e-brake relay, the rear camera relay sucks (poor signal) and the 4" display above the radio doesn't work. The installer had to find solutions for all of this. Really disappointing but 40% the cost of iData Maestro.

Pros
  • Keep factory 4 inch screen
Cons
  • Waiting too long
