I am very satisfied with this camcorder. It's everything I hoped for and more. I've had it for about 2 months and during that time I've used it sporadically, mostly for indoor activities. I think everything he does, he does well. To be honest I'm just a regular user and have little experience/knowledge in such things. I've spent a lot of time trying to find a camcorder that works well in low light (indoors) AND has good battery life. Being a more advanced model, it has a medium-sized battery that offers longer battery life than the M400 series and a larger sensor, meaning it performs better in low light conditions. Defects: ---------- -------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------one. The touchscreen could be a bit more responsive. It works great, but you have to almost tap instead of just tap for it to respond. Just getting used to.2. HD files cannot be played on all devices, but you can record or convert to MPEG4, which is more versatile. I noticed the ability to convert HD files to MPEG4 in one of the camcorder's menus, which is nice. I haven't tried it, but presumably you can use it to record in HD and then convert a copy of the video to play on lower end devices. ---------------------------------- ------------------------------ -------PROS:----------------------- ----- ----- ---------------------------------------- ----- ------one. Low light performance! I noticed that in low light the video is less dark than in real life. It's also not overly noisy/grainy like some camcorders do in low light. I'm very happy with it! 2. Battery. It seems to take anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours. For my needs so far, that's fine and it's easy to get a spare battery when needed. PLUS, you can use it when connected to the network (for kids games or indoor games etc.).3. Wireless + DLNA. It's so great that I can watch videos DIRECTLY from the camcorder on my Android devices and Sony BlueRay player! FYI, wireless connection is limited to only 4 saved networks.4. Viewing the screen is articulate. You can rotate the screen to any angle, which is useful, especially when holding it overhead or looking to the side of the camcorder. You can flip the screen and flip it to the closed position so the screen faces outward for side viewing. I do this more often than I thought. 5. Image Stabilization. This feature is amazing to me. I held this camcorder in my hands for about 10 minutes to record 2 songs for a concert and believe it or not by the time I stopped my hands were shaking badly. I was amazed to see how much my hands were moving, but the screen was fixed to a visible frame. I swear I lifted my hands 1/2 inch and the video came out clear! I also recorded some fast events where I "spun" the camcorder to follow the action and the resulting video came out pretty good. Not as bad as typical "home video" shake. Enough of that.6. Compact and robust for what it is. I don't feel like it's a cheap feel. Sits comfortably in the hand.-------------------------------------------------------- ------- -------- ----------- ----------- -- Basically I am very satisfied!
