One headphone / two audio sources

I have two Macbooks. I edit videos on one and while the video renders I watch Netflix on the other. This adapter fits both the 3.5mm jack inputs on my laptop and the 3.5mm jack inputs on my headphones. Now I don't have to switch headphones from one laptop to another. Note that the adapter is quite short. I can connect the adapter to two Macbooks as both 3.5mm jack inputs are on opposite ends, one on the right and the other on the left.
