Buy Another Brand - Less than 5,000 Miles Failure

UPDATE FEBRUARY 2020 - This clutch failed after less than 5000 miles. It broke and damaged my fan. Now I have to replace the clutch and the fan. Used on Trailblazer/Envoy Inline 4.2L I6 2002-2009. If it fails, it will likely cause the fan to vibrate, causing wear on the water pump bearings. Just go ahead and install the water pump. On my engine, changing the thermostat is a huge pain and had to be done. I did everything at once and saved a lot of time. On the I6 engine I cut a groove around the upper radiator hose to attach the fan cover to ease installation. Replacing the thermostat and clutch made sure my engine temp wasn't hot enough and the fan speed was too high. Check engine light codes. Did about 4 hours. You MUST have a tool to hold the water pump in place and a 1.5" open end wrench with a very large adjustable wrench. Watch online videos and step-by-step guides. You can do this and save $$$$. If you don't change the clutch, you can cost the water pump and thermostat the engine.
