Shelf ok: light wood, nice grip mats. They give you screws for the mat, which is nice, the glue doesn't fall off after 3 months. However, this turned out to be a dangerous gift for our cat. It fell out of the wall. All four drywall anchors failed. When they pulled it out, it became apparent that the screws this thing came with didn't loosen them at all. I install drywall anchors all the time for my wife when she changes decor and they always hold so I don't think it's my fault. The one I was able to install in the stud worked great, although I replaced the anchors for the side in the drywall. It works great with real anchors (which are pretty cheap), but that's a real problem. They should only give you screw anchors anyway. My cat is very light, but many will probably be at the limit of plastic dowels anyway due to their weight and the force with which they jump onto the shelf. They didn't open at all because the screw was being screwed in, turning them into just thick plastic tubes waiting to be pulled out due to the torque of the shelf arm. I would say it's 4 stars if you know how to use different anchors otherwise 1.
