Review on ๐Ÿ๏ธ FODSPORTS FX8 Motorcycle Bluetooth Intercom: Noise-Canceling Helmet Headset with FM, 8 Riders Intercom System for ATV/Dirt Bike/Off Road by Steve Cypert

Unique mounting system but a little bulky

There were no reviews when I bought this but I decided to try it as I need an intercom with a built in FM radio. Fastening system on the FX8 so that the device has electrical contact with the mounting plate when it is locked in place. There are a number of spring-loaded pins on the plate and flat pins on the device that snap together. There is a spring-loaded release button that pulls the release latch. The FM radio function was pretty nice, and there's an antenna that pops up and snaps into place when not needed. It's fairly well designed, but I found that placing some of the buttons on top that are a little hard to press requires an opposing thumb grip to activate the feature. Without counteracting the button presses, the lever would swing this thing wildly in the mount. I could imagine this unit rocking on its mounting plate and button pushing can loosen it over time. I didn't like the fact that the speakers are hardwired to the mounting plate. So if they ever fail I'll have to buy a new mount if even available or try to wire them up. I have never installed it on my helmet, just reviewed it after weighing the pros and cons of this intercom versus the M1-S Pro. I chose the M1-S Pro. It doesn't have FM radio capability, which I really wanted, but like that unit, it also has the ability to stream music over the cable (which I don't want) or via a Bluetooth connection from a separate device.
