I like that it's open source software so you can modify as needed to fit your needs (or even create new features). It also has an active community of users who are willing to help out when they see someone struggling with something in particular or just generally helping one another figure things out. The interface could be simplified but this isn't necessarily bad - there might not always need to be such detailed options available at all times. You should definitely give wampserver try if any option looks appealing! We're using it primarily because we wanted our website hosted locally rather than having everything run through shared hosting services which have their own set-up costs associated with them. This allows us more control over what happens behind the scenes without needing outside resources/people involved.
