I ignored reviews that 3x magnification was enough because I had no intention of using magnification. Well, surprise! This is not a two way mirror and 3X is your only choice. My fault for the misunderstanding, but be aware. Otherwise a very nice mirror! I thought it would replace my hand mirror but it doesn't fit to see the back of my head. This is great for putting an ointment on my dry eyes in the dark. my main reason for getting it. We were able to mount it to a 1/2" thick wall unit without additional reinforcement. It looks like it might outlive our lives here on earth. Seriously.
