Review on OXO Brushed Stainless Utensil Holder by Noe Miceli

Very nice kitchen utensil holder

When I started looking at kitchen utensil holders, I found many holders on the market. All shapes, all sizes, all price ranges, from stainless steel to plastic. THEN I wondered a second time what I would put in the holder since I have a drawer full of gadgets, spoons, gadgets etc. If you are a chef you know what I mean. I finally put my game together and did three things. I looked at what I had in my dish drawer, what I use the most, and what I rarely, if ever, use. THEN I started looking closely at the shape and size of the holder. For the number of items I have this OXO was perfect. Its SHAPE (oblong) and height were ideal for storing more items than a square or round holder. The base is made of high quality plastic that will stand up to some wear and tear. But what attracted me is that the base detaches, which allows you to clean the holder yourself. Also, my significant other washes the dishes, doesn't dry them completely and "pushes" them into the holder. The water has to go somewhere, and instead of pooling on the bottom and rusting in the stainless steel bracket, this OXO lets water pool in the bottom pan, which I find natural and growl at my other half. Another nice feature is the stainless steel part. . I boiled (as usual and in self-defense), moved the OXO around a bit, and noticed my greasy fingerprints on the mount. Quick spray with glass cleaner and viola!, immediate cleaning. Is it right for you? My suggestion is to do what I did. Pull out ALL your kitchen items and choose the ones you really use, the ones you don't use and just want to get rid of. If you have 10-12 items this block will hold them very well and is high enough (deep?) so the utensils don't hang out of the holder. However, keep in mind that not all dishes will fit in this holder and you will probably still use the dish drawer space? But in general, you'll enjoy just reaching for (whatever?) rather than rummaging through your desk drawer. And only flat stainless steel looks good on the counter (compared to a ceramic jar of Wootsie chicken). Can I recommend this device? Yes, this is a DEFINITE PURCHASE.
