I bought these sandals to pour. When changing canes on my willows, I need shoes that can get wet and dry and are perfect. Ordinary athletic or hiking shoes get wet and can remain damp for several days, posing a problem for the fungus to develop. The downside of this hiking shoe is that pebbles, dirt, branches etc get caught in the insole as there are holes on the side. This is a normal activity issue. When this happens I have to remove them completely to get rid of the problem.
