The error message hasn't gone away

I have followed the instructions which included the step of removing the chip from my original toner cartridge and inserting it into the new cartridge but the cartridge was still not recognized as real. When I could get my printer to bypass the fake error message, the print quality was great. Unfortunately, I had to send the toners back because it wasn't clear with each printout whether my printer would accept them or not.
