I was having some trouble with one of my old magic mice and it was the perfect opportunity to replace it with a trackpad (I wanted one too). so it was an even better time). I'm also an amateur photographer and have recently been using some graphics editing software. So drawing with the mouse is quite difficult. Editing photos with the mouse isn't that old, but using the trackpad for both photo editing and graphic design is a really good choice. The trackpad's touch sensitivity is less adjustable than its speed. My only complaint is when I use it for Google Maps. Street View is difficult to access because you have to type (click) and drag, which is not easy. It's like a two step thing and not easy to do with one finger. I've tried using two fingers, but it only works sometimes. So overall I like it. This helps minimize the space required. The mouse needs to move from all directions - the trackpad stays still as long as your finger moves over it, and there's quite a bit of room to move.
