These 200 cotton buds are packaged in a round plastic case with a plastic foil seal on the outside. The lid is completely removable. I lift the lid to get the tampon and push the lid to close the container. The tampons are soft to the touch and comfortable to use against my skin, but they are not as full of cotton as the other brands I use (ie these tampons are a bit flimsy because there is so much cotton on each end). On the other hand, the cotton wraps tightly around the ends and better stays intact while I use them. I really like that the spindle is a bit stiff; This is what I prefer when cleaning and drying my ears as it gives me the best control. But I can bend the spindle, and if I bend it too much, it will break in half. This is the first time I've used a Q-Tip with a coiled end; it makes my ears really clean and dry (usually I use tampons after shower). All in all, these cotton swabs have the two qualities I desire: a semi-rigid spindle and tightly wound cotton.
