PSU. From time to time over the past two years, I have noticed that the battery will not charge when the AC adapter is plugged into a household outlet. At first I thought it was a faulty outlet in the kitchen as it charges when plugged into other outlets. I tried the kitchen outlet again and it worked fine. Today, December 13, 2018, I plugged the power adapter into the household outlet, but I didn't see the battery charging. I started checking the adapter connections and suddenly there was smoke coming out of the cable. I later found out that the neutral (black) line was shorted and the wire was melting. Was very glad I didn't leave the unit on overnight.
