They look great. I didn't realize how fake all my other fake candles looked until I tried these. Others have a very orange glow while these are a lovely warm white. The "flame" flickers adequately and the adjustable brightness is cool. They don't get as much customization, but they're still cool. The remote control works at a distance of about 15 meters. Multiple timer options and turning on automatically at the same time every day are my favorite features. It's not wax, it's a hard plastic, smooth but matte rather than glossy. I would call it a satin finish. From a short distance they look quite realistic. They are bright enough to provide small emergency lighting. I can't comment on the battery life as I've only had it for a week. Requires 2 AA batteries each. Would buy them again! Update January 2021: I still love her! I use them a few nights a week and leave them on until the timer turns them off. Using the same batteries I started with a few months ago. Still 10/10 and would recommend!
