Only worked well for 4 months

I bought my mum pink ones to match the color of the tablet case. They sounded and looked good but broke after only 4 months. The sound turns on and off as the wire is moved. I really didn't want to spend $12 on disposable headphones. The manufacturer didn't want to replace them, so that's not a good price.
