The only visible difference was that the plugs on them are gold while the original plugs I had with Bose were silver. The rest is completely identical. The fit can be a little less secure as I noticed that the little silver tab on the side doesn't slide out like my original (usually they're little hooks that snap when you put them in the headset to prevent it not tear out easily). Still, the extraction was a little easier compared to the original, so slight it really didn't matter. I have one of the old versions of the QC15 (my dad gave it to me MANY MANY MANY years ago) so even on the Bose website it wasn't easy to find replacement plugs for it (their section of the replacement cable didn't have anything). for the QC15, I had to type it in explicitly and then the OEM version popped up) and one day I found it on their website, it was $30. I'm so glad I found the post-market version instead. The sound is identical too (I compared them although I'm not a music lover or a professional) and the up, down and pause buttons work just fine. Really cool, I'm so happy I don't have to worry about the connector bending/breaking in whatever I plug it in. I was so scared I would have to buy new Bose headphones (they aren't cheap!) and to be honest I just love mine because I've already broken them! I love that there are so many replacement parts for different Bose headphone parts!
