Before you apply the nipple covers and tape, all you have to do is make sure your skin is absolutely clean and dry with no lotions, oils or perfumes. I ended up using a cotton pad with alcohol, which also helped remove excess sebum. Another thing that helped was having a fan pointed at me, which helped dry out my skin but kept me from sweating excessively. I really needed a little help bandaging my shoulder as I have a sore arm but it's really easy to put on. I also recommend wearing nipple covers as this is very important. Also, I could wear this band all day and most of the night. Even when I danced and moved, this bond not only stayed but never came loose, even when my dress rubbed the edges of the bond. Even though I'm a DD, this band really stays on and it's a lot easier than wearing an uncomfortable bra. I highly recommend this tape and even in a cream dress the naked body will not be visible. Just make sure the tape is flattened and doesn't even stand out.
