This was my first time using water beads so I didn't really know what to use. I've used small balls of tube that you heat together and it was what I expected. That's not it. Now it must be 4 years and older. Let's just get one thing straight here. . . I don't know any 4-year-old who could do it on his own. And I work with children. A nice zippered pouch is included to store your accessories and use them later. This piece is made from really cool leather with a water bubble pattern and a zipper that works smoothly and won't snag. The kit comes with everything you need: beads, a tray to hold them, stencils, and then you wet them so they stick together. As an adult, it was a bit difficult for me to get her to stay where I wanted. Then wet them. . . I was concerned that too much water would either move them around or wash away the glue, but it turns out more water is better than less. They eventually stuck together, but unfortunately they didn't feel as stable even after drying. They're fine if you want to display them, but I certainly wouldn't trust them to be played with or carried around. Personally, I'd stick with the little plastic tubes that you heat up. They may not be as pretty, but they stay where they are.
