Awesome Pros and Cons

Here's the thing. I specifically bought this product knowing that some of the ingredients are not good for the skin. A little background on my skin. I have rosacea, sensitive skin, some eczema and combination skin. I'll start with witch hazel. Witch hazel is a known skin irritant. Over time, it breaks down your face's moisture barrier. Bad thing. Witch hazel also tightens pores and gives the skin a matte appearance, making it look younger. That's the best way I can describe it. Citrus medica Limonum Extract (lemon extract) is mainly used to add vitamin C to your skin and also as an exfoliant. The downside is that it is acidic and can irritate the skin and cause damage over time. Then of course it has a scent that should NEVER be in skincare. I'm not talking about every ingredient, although some of them are decent. So, like I said, I bought this product ON PURPOSE knowing that it contained ingredients that were bad for my skin. Why did I buy it? What witch hazel and lemon extracts do well is they balance my skin, making it brighter, younger and really exfoliating. I would NEVER use this regularly. I will use this specifically for special occasions and no more than 4 times a year. When I use it I apply a heavier and lighter moisturizer. A few things to watch out for. I did some test patches on the body and the irritation was minor.2. I am NOT a doctor, dermatologist or licensed esthetician.3. I get information from research because I work in the skin care industry.4. I do no more than licensed professionals.5. I am only sharing my knowledge, general information and experience with this toner and its ingredients. These are just my thoughts on why I bought this toner and my experience with it. So far I've only done test patches which have gone well and I plan on using them all over my face pretty soon. Having used a similar formula in the past I was confident in how my skin would react and the results it would produce. There are people for whom it can work wonders, but personally I'm comfortable using it only on special occasions. I look at expiration dates and try to find really affordable ones because I end up throwing most of them away. I also don't discourage anyone from using it. I'll use it myself, but I think it's important to have the information.
