Review on Comforting Love's Cabin 5 lb Weighted Blanket for Kids - The Perfect Sleep Aid by Mazie Laporte

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not great, but not terrible

I almost didn't even order this blanket as there were no reviews for it. I tried against common sense. My comforter arrived on time and I looked forward to opening and using it (it was bedtime when it arrived). When I opened the bag, I noticed a chemical/plastic smell; It was a disappointment. I figured maybe it was because it was in a plastic bag and I'm in the Texan heat, so I let it air out overnight hoping it would be different in the morning. This morning the smell is still there and hasn't improved so I'm going back. Smell aside, the fabric is very soft and would snuggle up great in it (although there were a few loose ties, no holes). There don't appear to be any beads in each square, instead about half the squares have fallen off as if they only have stuffing. This duvet has a lot more filling (no glass beads) than the previous duvet, which makes me wonder what's actually in the duvet (but you get what you pay for). Bottom line: if you can overcome the smell, the comforter isn't terrible. , it does the job (weighs 10# really) and can be gently pressed against you (it cannot be washed and there are no loops to use the cover).

Pros
  • Useful not just for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are cons
