I confess when I started I was scared. I went to the salon and they waxed my upper lip and eyebrows and it hurt - REALLY hurt! I wasn't sure if I could do this myself. This system is so simple and so secure! First, of course, you should read the instructions. But they are easy to understand. Put the wax beads in the pot, turn it on and wait for the indicator to turn green. Then you are ready to go. The hardest part was applying the wax in a thin layer, but that will come with practice I'm sure. Then you don't need strips, you just wait 30 seconds and then remove the wax directly from the skin. I will say that stronger or thicker hair may require a second try, but this will easily take all the peach fuzz out of your face on the first try. It doesn't hurt like it does in the salon - not for a mile! Make sure you start with clean skin. They even give you a cleanser/toner to help cleanse your skin before the procedure. They also have a tonic to use afterwards, but I don't think it's really necessary, but it's nice and refreshing. I used it. The initial cleansing toner has a lavender scent and the final toner is coconut although I didn't smell that much. After that, my skin was neither red nor irritated and I applied the patches twice. I had no more unsightly spots. This system has a softer character, which makes me very happy. I don't think I will ever go to the salon again. I was less worried about the money than about the hygiene of everything. It always seemed to me that pimples would ooze out of me after going to the salon for upper lip waxing and I have no problem with that. You know what you are doing is clean and safe. In a salon you don't really know if everything is clean, so I always had acne problems afterwards. Once you start doing this at home you won't go back to professional waxing - I bet!
