This item works great. I placed my 45 inch TV on a shelf in the center of my living-dining room. Now I can put it by the side of the couch when I'm watching TV with family and friends, or by the side of the dining table when I'm doing crafts but want to watch TV while I'm working. That's a stable base. I have kitties who love running around the TV on this stand, but I don't have to worry about them flipping anything with their feline shenanigans. Can be rotated easily in either direction. You can rotate it in any direction, but with the cable connected I only need 180 degrees, not 360. It's really a very good investment. My TV is big, but this room is so long and narrow that I couldn't see the full screen because of the distance. Now that it's in the middle of the room, the TV seems to be twice as big no matter where I am in the room. Love it! I recommend it to anyone for wall mounting because it's strong and stable, but there are no holes in my wall.
