Review on πŸ—„οΈ Vonanda Drawer Dresser: Mobile Chest of Drawers with 3 Storage Boxes and 4 Movable Wheels by Lakeisha Smith

Revainrating 3 out of 5

More chipboard furniture. But better than plastic bags.

I bought two of these to replace a pair of plastic 3 drawer blocks that I was using temporarily. I chose them because they were a pretty decent size and looked good enough for my needs. The blocks are made out of chipboard, like the Sullivan brand house kits you get, with the same type of connection hardware. For a nominal size dresser with 3 drawers they were heavy as a sin. Also, they had a few nicks and dents as they were clearly hand handled during shipping from China or somewhere in Asia. The instruction set was printed at size 6 or smaller, with several generalized drawings and a parts list. I finally surfed the web and found a video roughly showing them coming together in an animated illustrated presentation; although it doesn't quite match what I actually had. In any case, it took me about 90 minutes to assemble each one after vacuuming up all the styrofoam balls that were on all the pieces. It feels solid enough and the wheels feel good, although they're almost useless in my pile carpet. There is a difference in how far the top drawer can go compared to the bottom two. I think it's because of the single brace installed between the middle and bottom drawers, preventing them from sliding into the guide stops. It's not a big problem, I was just curious what happened when I finished assembling them. The boxes work perfectly, nothing flies out, doesn't get stuck. The finish is ok, a bit obvious that it's a pattern overlay on a chipboard but not that uncomfortable. At least now I know why shipping was so expensive.
