Review on Stainless Steel Water Bottle by LifeSky: Double Wall Vacuum Insulated, Leak Proof Sports Bottle, Keeps Liquid Cold for 24 Hours, Wide Mouth by Sarah Anderson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it in principle. The lid is made of stainless steel and is very durable.

Why I love this bottle: Pros: Finally a sealed, insulating water bottle with virtually no plastic touching the water. The steel on the steel screw on the lid is actually airtight when the bottle is left upright, thanks to a silicone ring that doesn't touch your drink. I live in Tucson, where everyone always has hot water on hand. It regularly goes out at 105, sitting in a parked car hitting 130 degrees and I'm still going back to real ice in my cold drink. - I like the wide handle attached to the lid - why would anyone ever make hot water without a carrying handle? Ideal for people with arthritis or bad hands. I have trouble opening anything with my hand, the handle serves as a very easy way for arthritic hands to open the bottle no matter how tight the cap is and makes it very easy to use. Cons: - the small hole size hits my face strangely - the back edge of the lip touches my nose when my lips are in front. So I either have to take tiny sips or I can't swallow. (By the way, I'm a woman with an average face and nose.) - The shape of the bottle is determined before it reaches the neck, like most bottles. For some reason, the shape of this particular lip captures ice cream of all shapes in a way that often results in it splattering right onto my shirt. Considering I live in Tucson and mostly drink water, which feels great and dries up in three minutes, I should cut down on plastic and have a cold beverage. I don't understand why they don't make a wide mouth anyway, both for easy cleaning and for filling with ice. The bottle itself is slim enough to fit in car cup holders and is comfortable to hold. So overall this is the best water bottle I've had, but I wish they had just made the opening wider for more comfort and to avoid spills. That's something to add later: After owning my first one for almost a year, definitely still a thumbs up. I use it every day for hot and cold drinks. Take it everywhere, drop it a lot, throw it on the trick floor with little to no scratches, and work as good as ever. I use it on camping trips, it keeps drinks cold for a long time and stays hot in the cold for 5-6 hours when closed and wrapped in a towel or blanket. The outside stays cool immediately after pouring boiling water, so the insulation really works. Great quality at a great price. I've looked at a ton of thermoses since buying this one and this is the only truly all stainless steel one I've found - all the others seem to have a plastic cap in the lid which I don't want with hot drinks. So I bought a second size of this bottle instead. great bottle!
