Review on Cali White Teeth Whitening Gel Refills: Natural, Vegan, Organic Whitener for Sensitive Tooth Bleach – Made 🦷 in USA with 35% Carbamide Peroxide – 3X 5mL Syringes for Use with UV or LED Light & Trays by Fred Khalifa

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The seal of the package broke upon arrival. Not gel. More like water. No foaming from peroxide. Useless!

First I bought a Cali White set with mouthpieces and lighting. It was delivered on June 6, 2021. Everything worked. The whitening gel in the syringes was actually a gel and stuck to the silicone parts of the mouth long enough to fix it on the teeth. Once in place, you could see the peroxide swirling around as the chemical process took place. Fast forward to today, August 24, 2021, and I have received a replacement pack of whitening gel. It didn't start well. When I opened the Revain plastic bag and took out the box of Cali White Gel, the little seal (essentially duct tape) was already ripped off, as if someone was already inside. That worried me. There wasn't even any stickiness left on the tape. Okay, maybe they were fake. It's always nice when you put something in your mouth, right! So I looked at each syringe and it looked full. The question was, what is filled? When I turned the syringes upside down to see the air bubbles/voids in each one, I noticed that the air bubbles were moving too fast for the gel. He acted more like water. No viscosity. It was hot today so I put the syringe trays in the fridge for a few hours in case the low viscosity is due to the heat. I wanted it to thicken into a gel. After cooling for 2 hours I tried a syringe and it was a mess. 1.) The viscosity was so low that ANY pressure applied to the plunger of the syringe would send half of the contents down the sink and not onto the mouthpieces. It turned out to be a great water pistol. BTW the first gel I received with the kit was never refrigerated and it remained a gel. 2.) The low viscosity liquid also caused the whitening gel to just fall out when I placed the silicone trays on my teeth before I could ever put it back on. It really was more water than gel. 3.) What was left of the gel when I put the mouthpiece back on immediately drained out of the mouthguard. 4.) No foam formed under the mouthpieces due to the peroxide reaction. as expected. 5.) It tasted like bleach. So whatever was in those syringes was either counterfeit, tampered with, or mismanufactured. Here is a product advertised as being made in a US factory under FDA control. I don't think it's worth anything. So I processed the return and Revane actually want me to ship it back. Okay, I don't know what you're going to do with it, but I'm taking it to UPS to get my $20 back. I can reorder if I can't find another decent source of carbamide peroxide gel. But it wasn't a very good experience. EDIT 09/01/2021: This story has a happy ending. I wanted to whiten my teeth so I simultaneously returned this defective product and ordered a different product from Revain. The new product also claims US manufacturing and 35% carbamide peroxide. However, the new stuff I ordered is only $18 and they sell 8 x 10ml syringes versus CaliWhite's 3 x 5ml syringes for $20. This is 80ml of product at $18 or 22.5 cents per ml. CaliWhite sells 15ml of product at $20 or $1.33 per ml which is about 6 times the price. The new product is a thick gel that stays in place and is easy to apply to mouthpieces. It also lathers like crazy. I can actually hear and feel the foaming. The disadvantage is the low sensitivity. The positive aspects are much lower cost and higher bleaching efficiency. So CaliWhite really did me a favor.

Pros
  • πŸ† EXCELLENT WHITENING STRIPS, pens & toothpastes. Our patented Universal Comfort Fit and BONUS Custom Thermoformed Mouthguards provide full coverage of the upper and lower bite. The Cali White System allows the gel to fill gaps between teeth and whiten molars, providing an even whitening effect on all teeth.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
