Review on 🔧 Dorman 625-149 Engine Oil Cooler Line by Cody Howard

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The buyer should be careful - the package may not contain all the parts needed for installation!

This hose should come with a spare quick connect clamp that attaches to the oil filter adapter. This hose came without a new clamp. I installed the hose and reused the original clamp, then opened the packaging of another oil hose (Dorman 625-150) and saw that it came with a new clamp and a note that said "Under no circumstances die Reuse locking clip". clips. At this point the hose was already on the car and there was oil in it. Parts stores sell replacement clips for $13 a pack. You can go to a GM dealer and get a new fitting (GM part number 15043741) and a plastic cap (that was on the hose - GM part number 15052228) for about $17, which I did in the interest of time, to get my car rebuilt. Learn from me - check the packaging carefully and see if it has a clip before you open it. This hose was exactly the same price at the local auto parts chain; However, I chose to order from Revain to save the trip to the store (they require you to come into the store to order and pay, then return to the store once the part arrives). The hose looks high quality and is a satisfactory replacement for OEM hoses; However, the one star rating is due to the fact that the hose does not come with all the necessary parts, making the on-site acquisition cost almost in excess of the original purchase price.

Pros
  • Tubing material resists shrinkage, the most common cause of leaks near fittings.
Cons
  • Not everything fits.
