Not for babies who don't know their hands at all
The first thing my baby (4 months old) did was put it back down his throat. He's not teething, but he has a strong urge to chew everything instead of sucking on a pacifier. He's 6 months old today and will probably do better with it, but I wish I'd bought straws with fuses on them.
