Bought for my son's cot. He still has accidents at night. We wanted something that would protect his mattress but not make that awful rustling sound like typical plastic covers. We used to use potty training mats, but he rolled around so much we needed something that would cover the entire mattress. The top layer is the same soft material as the Maya we use. They are not waterproof but very absorbent. The benefit of this mattress topper is that the underside is thin plastic and I think we give the mattress extra protection if it gets into an accident that the top layer can't handle. Even with thin plastic, it doesn't make any noise when moving, which I really like. Based on our history of similar fabrics and potty training I think this would be perfect for our needs and other occasional spills.
