Easy to assemble but not so easy to use

This shelf is very easy to assemble. 10 minutes and done. I bought this shelf because it is really unique. I wanted a sloping shelf as I thought it would be easy for children to see the books. As you can see in this picture, the shelf is not actually a solid back, but 2 bars with a piece of wood on top. This means if you put a book on a shelf and it falls, it will fall between the rungs and onto the floor behind the shelf. The back of the shelf is so small that it's difficult to attach a furniture anchor to hold it up. from falling. The shelf itself is pretty sturdy, but since the twin monkeys climb on it, I wanted to use a furniture anchor on it. Anyway, I'm not sure if the little piece of wood it's attached to will hold it up if it falls. Shelves are a real problem. The book is held on the shelf only by the smallest piece of wood in the top corner. If you lean a lot of books against it, the last book often falls down and triggers an avalanche. And lots of books on the floor or hanging behind a shelf. In fact, a pair of crossbars on the side as on the back solves this problem. The end result is that the books stay on the shelf so hard that the kids can't help but put the books back. Which is NOT the intended use.
