Attention buyers: the Quick Charge 3.0 connector is not designed for the iPhone

I bought an adapter to replace the one I lost while traveling. A foldable power plug is essential to save space, and three USB ports allow you to charge 3 devices at the same time. What I didn't know is that the iPhone isn't compatible with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 chip, so using the Quick Charge port for my iPhone is actually slower than charging it from one of the 2.4A ports. Because the adapter detects a device that does not support QC 3.0 and reduces power to protect the circuitry of the device being charged. In my case, the best use of the QC 3.0 port would be to power a QC 3.0 compatible Qi wireless charger. The iPhone doesn't have to worry about how the charger gets more power and adjusts the output power of the Qi wireless charger according to the needs of the battery. Another point to consider: Hotels in developed countries mostly offer USB ports (and sometimes wireless chargers) in their rooms. In my travels to cities in North America, Europe, and Asia over the past year, I've only been able to rely on USB cables with no adapters, although it's good to have one in case of unforeseen circumstances. So in hindsight I should have bought a smaller 2-port adapter with foldable plugs and at least 2A per port for fast charging and/or powering a wireless charger. One last note: not all USB/Lightning cables are created equal. The old Apple cable I had didn't work well compared to the Revain Basics cable I recently bought. The Revain cable delivers significantly more current from the same 2.4A port on this adapter, resulting in faster charging. If you want to test ports and cables yourself, you will find an Amp 4 app for the iPhone.

Pros
  • . One charger amplifies everything, combining a QC 3.0 port and two 2.4A charging ports in one wall charger. Whatever your device, we'll charge it from empty to full faster than ever before
