PERFECT IF YOU HAVE FELT IN YOUR HEEL/ANKLE

These shoes are perfect for kayaking, SUP, cycling and hiking in wetlands - IF YOU STITCH SQUARE FELT TO YOUR HEEL. The shaft of the boot, where it crosses the back of the ankle, is very uncomfortable - it bends inward, rubbing and cutting the Achilles tendon. At first I tried wearing a moleskin patch but as soon as I got in the water the moleskin fell off. SO I sewed a felt square in this place and now they are very comfortable. I wear them when I work as a kayak guide - they dry very quickly and keep rocks and shells from getting under my feet (unlike Keens and Chaco sandals). Today I rode 12 miles through the Florida wetlands, had to cycle through mud and water many times and then kept on riding, and these shoes were perfect.
