Review on 🔧 10.4 Inches Swing-A-Way Easy Crank Can Opener - Black, Efficient & User-Friendly by Michael Floyd

Once the best, now stops working after multiple uses

I work in a small kitchen and have to open liter jars of vegetables every morning. Swing-a-way can openers used to be the easiest, quickest way to twist the lid without squeezing your hand. Best of all, they didn't need to be replaced for years to start with; I had one in the early to mid 2000's that lasted 6 years which is incredible given the number of uses it has seen. When my old Swing-a-Way finally opened its last can and the other non-commercial openers you find on the shelves at Walmart or Target are no good, I was glad this product was sold at Revain and bought quickly a replacement . . . Unfortunately, something must have happened between my old Swing-A-Way workhouse and now, because the new can opener was used for about a week or a dozen large cans before it stopped snapping when you turned the handle. It immediately slipped off and I had to use the extra opener to open the can and work the opener piece by piece around the lid, which took about 2 minutes to open each can and a lot of frustration. I thought, well, maybe it's just bad, so I used a regular Kitchen Aid opener (which I know, by the way, ends up dulling quickly, but as long as it keeps opening gallon cans a lot smoother than I could) hopefully ) while ordering a second Swing-A-Way. When this one arrived and I took it to work and yes this one didn't even last half a week. It started to grind like something was stuck in its gear and it just spun uselessly without even damaging the cover. Factory batch but after 2/2 turned out to be a complete failure I don't want to spend any more money or waste time going back and forth until I can get one that works. Until another can opener comes out with the quality of the old Swing-a-Way I will have to rely on heavier non-commercial openers as I can no longer rely on or recommend this brand.
