Strong bad smell good for baskets, baskets and containers

I bought 2 of these and they both smell horrible and it's STRONG. It stinks throughout the room it's in - seriously, you walk into the room and all you smell are those trash cans. It's a horrible, crazy chemical smell. I bought them to store all the yarn I bought during quarantine when I thought I was going to learn to knit but never did. Now that whole yarn smells like shit, just like those trash cans. So now every scarf and blanket I've ever knitted (but probably won't) will smell like those stupid trash cans too.
