I bought this to use on my two older cats with kidney failure as an alternative to Azodil which needs refrigeration and is much more expensive (but seems to help). This is not the best choice for cats. I knew the capsules would be too big for most cats and was hoping I could dilute the loose powder so it could be flushed. The psyllium fibers turn it into a hard, rubbery material that I had to mix with plenty of wet food to make it soft enough for a shower. One of my cats eats it when I inject it (at least 12ml of the stuff) and the other doesn't. I will continue to use it as much as possible and see how she goes with Azodile. But it's very difficult to use and I, if it really doesn't matter, I probably won't reorder. I think it would be great for dogs.
