Review on πŸ”₯ Warm and Durable: Proctor Silex 34300 Stainless Steel Warming Appliance by Mark Patterson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm glad I took the plunge. Worked great for us.

I was worried about the purchase based on some reviews, but decided to take a risk and try it myself. I'm glad I did as it worked out great for our dinner party. I read all the instructions twice. Just to make sure I understand exactly what needs to be done to keep the food warm as so many people have expressed their dissatisfaction. This kept the food warm throughout our 5 hour dinner. That was great. No one needed to reheat food in the microwave as the heating pad did the job. I used the serving trays that came with the set, although I like that you can detach them and just use the flat base (with your own dishes) if you wish. I haven't done this yet, but I think it will work just as well (if you follow the guidelines). Decent sized serving trays. I was impressed (based on another brand I have where the dishes are flat). I don't think it would be beneficial for a large buffet (no more than 12-15 people). We had twelve people at a dinner party and it was just the right size for our event. I like that the lids were slotted for spoons. (I have another brand that doesn't have this feature and it's annoying). I'd like two large and two smaller serving trays instead of three "big" serving trays (cut one of the big ones in half to give the user two small bowls). This allows you to place "side items" or additions to what was in the larger trays. For this reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and will definitely buy again.

Pros
  • INCLUDES 2 OVEN-READY SERVINGS: Serve a main course and a large side dish at the same time in two 2.5 liter stainless steel roasters. Each pan has a transparent domed lid to retain moisture when serving. Each lid has a spoon hole for easy serving.
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
