Whatever you do, don't use it to transmit. It's basically a mini UHF antenna and for god's sake they think it'll work at two meters and I don't know if you'll burn your rig. On the other hand it's good since you need a low profile scanning antenna, it works on UHF to transmit but not two meters. I kept mine rather than returning them to use as a low profile UHF scanner antenna. The magnetic mount is normal, nothing special, does the job. I tried the antenna on a magnetic mount on a permanent mount on the HMO trunk. Again UHF only in my head
