I have just shaved for the first time with a straight razor and Barbarol shaving cream. I was a little worried about nicks and cuts, but my first shave was very smooth with no nicks. I found it intuitive because the angle of use is pretty much the same as with a multi-bladed beak or similar. I'll practice a few times before attempting this on the back of my head. I have fairly light stubble and slow growth and I usually only shave every two or three days so I can't comment on how it works on men with heavy stubble. However, this is an amazing discovery for me because now I can buy blades for about 7 cents each instead of $2 each and not throw plastic in the trash.
