I do both film and digital photography but I bought this sync cord specifically for film work. I've tested this with my TLR Mamiya C220, Konica Auto S2, Canon AE-1 (to name a few) and they all seem to work fine with the occasional misfire. My only advice is to make sure the connections are secure when taking photos as they seem to move slightly even when plugged in. As I said, I rarely had problems with dropouts, but they did happen. While I don't mind, you might want to consider a higher quality or more expensive sync cord if this is a big deal to you. Again, my film cameras are very old and the shutters, while very well made, are not perfect. But for me, this particular product worked well.
