I bought these after moving to Arizona where the trails are pretty dusty and my original Chacos just didn't fit. My feet would get muddy and they still get a bit dirty with this new style but it's such an improvement. Every spring when I broke my originals I would get huge blisters on the arches and these had no blisters at all. I also think the arch is a bit higher on them, which works great for me but may not be ideal for some. I would definitely recommend wearing them around town for a few days before hitting the streets, they are quite stiff to begin with but other than that I love these sandals!
