Review on Height-Adjustable Stand for MacBooks & Laptops - Twelve South HiRise for MacBook by Brandon Miller

TwelveSouth HiRise for MacBook has a lot of potential and the product really comes close to being a great laptop stand. Unfortunately, however, this point of view is not true. The two biggest issues are just too devastating for users to ignore: 1. Durability - I'm using my 16-inch MacBook Pro. This stand just can't handle the weight or size. The stand wobbles from the weight of the laptop; and the size of the laptop (16 inches) is almost ridiculously larger than the width of this stand (probably 10 inches if I had to guess). it would probably be skinny, we're not dealing with black stand handles (great feature!) 2 . Quality. Overall, this stand is a quality product (and way better than most laptop stands you'll find online); However, the height adjustment system is an exception. In short, TERRIBLE. The height-adjustable arm keeps getting stuck, apparently caused by the spring getting caught underneath. Also, the button to loosen/tighten the arm is just terrible. He just can't seem to keep his hand in place no matter how hard you try. There's always a little hesitation. I know this seems like a minor issue, but over time if you use it every day for work it becomes unbearable very quickly. TwelveSouth came SOOO close to making a great product. In fact, the stand is probably great if you're not someone who types on your laptop when it's on the stand (if you're using a monitor + wireless keyboard/mouse). But if you type directly on your laptop while it's on a stand, you'll run into the problems I mentioned. The stand flexes under the weight and size of the 16-inch MacBook Pro 2020. You should label the product for 13-inch laptops only. Still, the TwelveSouth needs to redesign its height adjustment system. MY RECOMMENDATION: I returned this stand and bought the Rain Design iLevel2 - best decision I've ever made! This stand is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to ALL types of users. It's literally perfect. Get Rain Design iLevel2 instead!
