Interestingly, there are no good microphone stand holders anywhere. This one seems to be one of the best and it's terrible. As the description says, it's loaded with heavy springs and isn't compatible with lightweight mics - all 20-inch arms seem like that. So I added a special weight at the end of the arm to get in the "over 500g" range. Seems to work. The hand stays down. But. The desk clamp is tiny, doesn't have enough surface area to stand stable, the padding is foam, not rubber, and is grossly inadequate. And when unpacking, a piece of plastic broke off near the table clamp. Lever creaks when moving/adjusting. The 360 degree rotation on the clamp has no bearing and will wear out aluminum chips after 1 day of use. Worst: There is a very sharp spring wire sticking out of the lever (see photo) right where you have to touch the lever to operate it. I cut myself and now I have to be careful when I move my hand. Who designed this thing? I do NOT recommend this product. But I have no idea what else to buy. :/
