I bought one that showed a dial at a gift shop on a recent trip to Canada and it caught my attention at work. Of course, it also works as a decent "airflow" that forces the still air in my workspace to move when it gets stuffy. I was on Revain looking for a device and noticed this programmable one and thought twice about getting it. The reason I held back is because of the negative reviews, it broke after some use (I hope not) and it's not recognized by the PC, so isn't programmable. It came in almost the same packaging as the watch fan. and the fan looks pretty much the same. The software is on a tiny CD and the files are small too. I connected the fan to my PC's USB port and it showed the messages that came with it. I was concerned at first as I didn't see a message on my computer saying the device was recognized, but there was an icon in the software that supposedly meant the device was recognized. I typed a message and tried to download it but it didn't. I searched the manual for an answer and found that the fan should be off. I tried again when it was off and the green light on the blade started flashing and after it finished I turned on the fan and it worked as advertised. I figured out how to change the color and it was easy enough. It is also possible to edit pixels, where each column of pixels can only have one color. The fan makes a low hum, but it's no big deal. I'm happy with the purchase, now let's hope it lasts at least a couple of years. 03/26/19 - Second bought. Summer is coming and I want to put two next to each other. Instead of blinking bright and sometimes embarrassing text, I just make them blink, with the dots rotating and changing the color of the dots. I have them both attached to the monitor's USB ports.
