Review on Jabra Engage 65 Wireless Headset Cell Phones & Accessories by Bernadette Pacheco

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Excellent headset electronics, really uncomfortable to wear.

I bought this because it looked like a spiritual successor to the GN9330 which I've been using for ten years and really like. The feature set of this headset was great, the sound was good, the base was good etc etc. I'm very happy with its electronic parts. (I wanted to add a few Bluetooth devices to this mix, that's the only reason I'm upgrading.) BUT this 'convertible' headset is just VERY uncomfortable (I'm not the only review to mention this, but I have didn't believe them, should! and yes, I watched a video on how to wear it and tried all the attachments etc.). The main problem is that the earpiece "cushion" is a piece of (semi-soft, but not soft enough) PLASTIC. On the GN9330 it was a piece of "cloth" with foam underneath. Yes, after a few years of daily use, the headset has peeled off a bit, but IT IS STILL SOFT. To put it bluntly, the plastic ear cups on this new model are just too hard and cause ear pain after about 30 minutes of use. So here's what I did. I returned this and bought a Jabra Engage 75 Mono Wireless Professional UC Headset. This "Mono Wireless" has a larger "earbud" that may look oversized and silly, but has a real "frothy" earbud and is more comfortable NIGHT AND DAY than a "convertible". But it has the same electronics, base, feature set, etc. I will leave a 5 star review for that!
