These are great all in one school shoes for narrow feet that need a little arch support. true size. We ordered navy blue with rubber soles. There is a decorative silver buckle, but the shoe closes with Velcro. We also ordered an adaptation of another model from the same brand; and pediped "Barbara". While the Pediped shoes are much more flexible and better for climbing or running around the playground, these Footmate 'Sherry' shoes look the best. We decided to keep both and the pediped 'Barbara' so we could have two pairs, one that would be better suited for dress uniforms and the other that would be easier to carry. Both pairs are very comfortable. The Footmates shoes are stiffer to double flex but have a very soft insole. My 5 year old twins loved them and didn't take them off after we tried them on.
