I ordered this because I wanted a thicker teacup so I wouldn't burn my hands and get cold too quickly. These mugs were perfect. They're a lot smaller than an American coffee cup, so keep that in mind. What makes them great is that they are very thick which does exactly what I need. They keep my tea warm for much longer and I don't have to worry about burning the hand I'm holding. Although they are small, the finger hole is big enough to get a good grip on the cup. I weigh about 200 pounds and my finger is big enough to hold a cup without fear of falling. The unique design reminds me of the Ponyo movie, although I don't think that was the idea, I think it's pretty cool. They stand out from anything typically found in the States, and when I drink tea from them on the street, my neighbors comment on how cool they look. I've also used it in the microwave with no problems (not sure I should have, but it works).
